Diary of A Vagabond Mind

Whats Up People? How Are You?

Hey you, Whats up? How are you doing? Is 2017 the year for you so far? I have been pretty busy for the most of 2017 so far. Today, I want to update you guys on whats going on with me so far and what I plan to do as the year passes. I wrote a post last year after the first quarter of 2016 passed. This year, I am on a different page altogether.

First off, I am in a pleasant mood and happy to be alive in this too much work too little rest no time for anything year. I am exhausting busy at work which is the second main reason for me not being online. First reason being, family affairs.

Since January, we have been quite busy with March closing month. For those who don’t know, I am an Assistant Manager working with one of the largest banks in India, ‘Bank of India”. Being the second in command I am learning to work in a whole new light. It’s rigorous work, there are too many people without bank accounts and my current branch being situated in an industrial area we are always busy with new accounts, advances, and other products. To those wanting to join banking sector in India, my advice is, learn to be tough and kind, it is very important in our country where more than 30% population is illiterate and don’t know banking at all. Banking is not for the faint-hearted in this era of evolution in India.

Whats up. A scene in General Banks in India
Any day, this amount of customers is nothing new to me now.

Secondly, since I can’t keep up with my blog at all, I bought 6 notebooks to write in. Why 6? Because that’s the number of notes in a bunch. 😀 Remember the time when we used to study late hours and slept on our desk? Suddenly, it’s happening with me a lot. Writing is such an amazing form of art. You can weave a thought into a poetry, a novel or a simple line and feel happy to have created something. I feel so much joy when I write, still, I miss the fun it brings me to share it here.

Thirdly, I am giving my family more time this year. A Huge reason for me being less online. Whatsapp-Facebook-Twitter-Insta you name it, I am nowhere to be seen. Feels completely fine though, no complaints. Which makes it easy to keep up with my awkward oath to not buy any new book for 6 months! I have yet to read the many books I have stacked up last year. Real tsundoku*, huh? It’s fun to go out with the gang of girls & boys in my sister’s society. All of them are so much fun to be with, being with them I think I feel more at ease and happy.

whats up. Fun gang
If you have one person who believes in you & has fun with you, it’s more than enough.

BIG NEWS? I am getting married in less than 20 days and I am super excited (scared too). Any tips for the new life? Anything’s welcome.

For the next few months (maybe until July-August) I will be very busy with my transfer process(fingers crossed pray for my early transfer guys), settling in a new place (Bangalore) and the usual stuff. I have heard so much about the place but one thing travel has taught me is to listen, learn but believe in my own experience. So, fingers crossed waiting for the new adventure. But I am planning to begin writing on the blog again, I miss writing, sharing and especially reading and commenting on blogs so much.

Lastly, I will be starting with three new blog series in the coming months. Each series will have minimum 3 articles in it.

So that brings us to you, WHATS UP with you?

What are you up to? How are things going for you in 2017? Is this year what you expected it to be or better or worse? Are you doing the things you planned to do? Any surprises by 2017?

See you, Ja Mata Ne`. :)’

*Note: Tsundoku is a Japanese word meant for book lovers. It means ‘Stockpiling of books, bought but not read and left in a pile, with no clarity on when it will be read.’

  1. Good to hear from you! A banker! OMG! Yes, indeed, you definitely have your hands full. CONGRATULATIONS on getting married! Whoa! You’re full of news! 🙂 Well, for advice, I’d say don’t worry about the first six to twelve months…you’ll have plenty of fun, but as time moves on…you must keep talking…communication is the key to every thing. Make him talk, make him laugh. I think you have many years of happiness before you. Bless you!

Thanks for the great post. 🙂

Oh, I’m working on my first novel…very slow work, but intensely gratifying. Thank you for asking!

    1. Wow… A novel? Isn’t that just great news from you. I find myself immensely happy when people talk about their writing, it’s just such a fun thing to do. Thank you so much for your advice, I’ll always keep it in mind, communication is the key.

Have a wonderful time writing, even when you get stuck, I hope you have fun. Waiting for your novel. Take care Paul. 🙂
